PARTNERS Strategic alliances with community based organizations strengthens our foundation and widens our circle of influence. Our partners call on us to assist in specific projects and together we achieve mutual goals. Our partners support thoughtful living with the natural resources within our rural community. Working together we promote a quality of life suited to our place, and a responsible relationship working with the land. Screech Owl Farm School welcomes partnership with organizations focused on land stewardship and supporting our future. We want to work with you to form the bridge to a future of ecological wisdom in an agricultural region. Screech Owl Farm School also works on a contractual basis with area education centers conducting teacher workshops, and assiting in curriculum development.

Triangle Land Conservancy welcomes Screech Owl onto farm and forest land held as open space in Chatham county. We walk and explore these beautiful natural treasures with the people who make their preservation possible. On occasion we also write for the Conservancy. Screech Owl Farm School, in cooperation with Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, NCSU, the Cooperative Extension Service and others, is working on a three year project at North Chatham Elementary School integrating Sustainable Agriculture into the curriculum for pre-K to fifth grade. The Haw River Assembly turned to Screech Owl Farm School to integrate the Haw River Festival into the North Carolina curriculum, and to establish their web-presence. Cecelia serves terms on the Board of Directors, and assists with the festival. Through the HRA, Screech Owl stays in touch with local caretakers of the land and ecological issues. In addition to these partnerships, we also work on a contractual basis with the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science, Schoolhouse of Wonder, the University of North Carolina at Chapel HIll and Carolina Friend's School. |
