Screech Owl Farm School

CURRICULUM

Currently Screech Owl is developing curriculum for pre-K through 5th grade in Sustainable Agriculture. The lessons are piloted at North Chatham School through a partnership with Carolina Farm Stewardship Association and the Cooperative Extension Service.

In our experience, curriculum without support stays on the shelf. The project at North Chatham School integrates local organizations and area farmers in partnership with teachers. These participants are interested in sustainable communities, and supporting our teachers.

Screech Owl Farm School cross-references each lesson with the local, state and national curriculum standards. This way, we help teachers achieve their goals, and work with the schools. The lessons also come with extensions of up to 6 hours on each topic so that they can be utilized by 4H.
